Fair question, and we would rather answer it than dodge it. Mundelein is not next door to us. What makes it worth the trip is that everything happens in one building, so the trip only happens once.
Design, printing and installation are all in our shop. Nothing goes out to a third party, which is where the extra days and the extra journeys usually come from.
We agree the artwork with you by email or phone first. By the time your vehicle arrives, the vinyl is printed and waiting. You are not leaving it somewhere while people decide things.
Road Rage Designs has wrapped vehicles for over twenty years from one shop in Spring Grove, Illinois. We are 3M certified graphics installers and PDAA master certified.
We work across Lake County and McHenry County, and plenty of Mundelein work has come through here. The reason people make the drive is usually that they got a wrap somewhere closer that lifted at the edges inside a year.
Small shop, same hands from design to install. Nothing gets handed between departments because there are no departments.
Send us the vehicle details and your logo files. We measure from the make and model, draw the design, and send you a mockup on your own vehicle.
You change whatever you want at that stage, because it costs nothing until it is printed. When you approve it, we print.
Then you bring the vehicle in. Installation is indoors on a cleaned panel and most single vehicles take two to three days. That is the only time it has to be here.
Ready to get started?
Full wraps, partial wraps, color change wraps and exotic textured vinyls for cars, vans and trucks. Vinyl cut lettering and door magnets if you want your name on the vehicle without wrapping it.
Commercial fleets, trailers, box trucks, buses and semi trucks, including US DOT compliance numbers. Fleets are where one trip really pays, because one design covers every vehicle.
Boats, jet skis, snowmobiles, ATVs and golf carts as well, plus signs, banners, window graphics and wall murals.
The printing side has its own pages for this area: custom banners in Mundelein and wall murals in Mundelein.
Yes. Vinyl has to go on indoors on a clean, warm panel, so wrapping is not something that can be done properly in your yard whatever anyone tells you.
What we do instead is make it one trip. The design is agreed and the vinyl printed before your vehicle arrives, so it is here for the install and nothing else.
By email and phone. You send your logo and tell us the vehicle, we send back a mockup on that exact make and model, and we go back and forth until you are happy.
If you want to see the vinyl itself first, we can post you samples, or you can come up and look. For a fleet color we would recommend seeing it in daylight.
Two to three days for most single vehicles. Lettering or a small partial can be a day. A full wrap with complex artwork on a large truck takes longer.
Because the design and printing are done before you arrive, that window is installation only. We book you in rather than letting vehicles stack up.
Vehicle size first, then how much of it you are covering, then artwork complexity, then the vinyl. Anyone giving you a figure before seeing the vehicle is guessing.
Tell us the vehicle and what you want it to do and we will give you a real number.
Quality vinyl handles road salt and the freeze and thaw cycle. The failures we are asked to fix are almost always installation: edges that were never sealed properly, letting salt and water underneath.
Hand wash through the winter rather than a brush wash, and keep the pressure washer away from the seams.
On sound factory paint, no. The vinyl protects the panel from chips, salt and sun, and it usually comes out in better shape than the rest of the vehicle.
Repainted or failing paint is the exception, and vinyl can lift it on removal. We check before starting and tell you if a panel is a risk.
